Sudan confident of CECAFA victory

DEFENDING Champions Sudan are determined to complete a hat-trick of regional titles. Sudan, commonly known as the Desert Hawks, arrived yesterday morning aboard Ethiopian airlines, which also had the Djibouti team.
“We are prepared,” said their coach Mohammed Abdalah Mazda, amidst chanting from other Sudanese leaving in the country, who had come to welcome the team. Sudan take on Kenya in one of the two Group B opening matches in Bugembe.
Burundi, who arrived on Sunday, were joined by other teams that included
Kenya, Zanzibar, Djibouti, Zambia, Somalia and Rwanda. Tanzania is expected to arrive in the country tomorrow.
The trophy was brought in by CECAFA president Leodegar Tenga.
