Albashir Violates his Unilateral Ceasefire in less than 72 Hours
The
village of
Koriba, close to Bir Maza in
North Darfur was bombarded by GOS Air Force, Friday 14th November 2008.
The attack which led to killing of live stock but no human fatalities reported exposes Albashir’s Unilateral Ceasefire as no more than a camouflage for more atrocities in Darfur.
As if that was not enough to put a final nail in the coffin of Sudan’s People’s Initiative, and of which the Unilateral Ceasefire was a part, GoS undertook another attack, midday, Saturday November 15th.
Around 150 GoS soldiers on 15 vehicles launched an assault on JEM forces at Sasa, 15km south of Tine in
North Darfur.
The assault was accompanied by air cover consisting of 2 Antanov bombers and 1 helicopter gunship.
The invading GoS force was summarily repulsed by JEM forces.
The Commander of GoS army with a rank of Lieutenant General was killed and so was his Deputy Commander who held a rank of Major.
