Taha says at conclusion of his visit to Juba agreement was reached between the two partners on steps for accelerating the peace process
Juba, Dec. 18 (SUNA)- Vice President of the Republic Ali Osman Mohamed Taha has said that agreement has been reached between the two partners on steps for accelerating the peace process in Sudan and coordination on the internal and external levels for solving Darfur problem. In a meeting with the press abroad the presidential plane en route back to Khartoum Thursday morning, Taha reviewed the outcome of his one-day visit to Juba during which he discussed with First Vice-President of the Republic and President of the Government of Southern Sudan Salva Kiir Mayardit a number of issues, especially the progress of implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA). Taha explained that his visit to Juba, during which he was accompanied by State Minister at the Presidency of the Republic Idris Mohamed Abdel-Gadir and Chairman of the Fund for Supporting Unity Yahya Hussein, came in the context of the continuous contacts and consultations between the Government of National Unity and the Government of Southern Sudan and the partners of the peace agreement on the issues of mutual concern and means of accelerating the peace process.
