Menawi Affirms his Movement's Commitment to the Cease-Fire
Al-Fasher, Sept. 19 (SUNA)- The Senior Assistant of the President of the Republic, Chairman of the Transitional Darfur Regional Authority (TDRA) and chairman of Sudan Liberation Movement, Meni Arko Menawi, has affirmed the commitment of his movement to the cease-fire. This came in his address in Al-Fasher city at the opening sitting of the talks between the government delegation, headed by the Vice - President, Ali Osman Mohamed Taha, and TDRA delegation which was chaired by Meni Arko Menawi. Menawi said that his long absence from Khartoum and the major cities in Darfur was a peaceful expression of his call for implementation of the items of Darfur peace agreement, realization of a just and comprehensive peace and the voluntary return of the displaced people and refugees to their home areas. Menawi appreciated participation of the Minister of Defence in the talks among the delegation accompanying to the Vice - President on ground that this participation will boost the commitment to the cease-fire and the refrain from the war. He also appreciated the efforts of the Vice - President for solution of Darfur issues. MO/MO
