Eritrean Foreign Minister arrives in Khartoum
Khartoum, Aug. 13 (SUNA) - Eritrean Minister of Foreign Affairs, Osman Saleh, arrived in Khartoum Wednesday carrying a message to President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir from his Eritrean counterpart Issias Afeworki dealing with issues of mutual concern. In this regard, Minister of Foreign Affairs Deg Alor, who received Salih at Khartoum Airport, said in a statement to SUNA his Eritrean counterpart would hand a message from President Afeworki to President Al-Bashir during his two-day visit to Sudan. Meanwhile, Alor said he would leave Thursday to Asmara on a mission related to the return of Eritrea to the IGAD organization, referring to the recent decision by Presidents of the IGAD's member states in Ethiopia to assign the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Sudan and Kenya to convey the Presidents' points of views to President Afeworki in a bid to end Eritrea's suspension to its membership in the IGAD. The Minister revealed that they will call on President Issias Afeworki on August 15 in this connection. MF/BT
