JUBA, 21 June 2010 (Gurtong) – The new government announced today, 21 June 2010, has new faces while some former Ministers have been retained in their dockets.
Notable new appointees are the SPLM Secretary – General Pagan Amum and Southern Sector SPLM Secretary Dr Anne Itto who have been appointed Ministers of Peace and CPA Implementation and Cooperatives and Rural Development respectively.
The all-inclusive cabinet also consists of Ministers from the National Congress Party (NCP) and other South Sudan political parties.
However, the NCP is yet to forward their nominations for the Environment and Wildlife portfolios.
The new appointments take effect immediately and the new Ministers will steer South Sudan into the referendum vote scheduled for January 9, 2011.
