Karti and Gration Review Referendum and Darfur Issue
Khartoum, Aug. 18 (SUNA)- The Foreign Minister, Ali Karti, Wednesday received the American envoy for Sudan, Scott Gration, and discussed impediments facing the referendum and the efforts for reaching a solution for Darfur issue under the new strategy in this regard
In a press statement, Karti said that his talks with the American envoy were focused on Darfur issue and the referendum of south Sudan and ways to surpass a number of controversial issues
Karti said that they agreed on return to cam dialogue far away from the media confrontations
Meanwhile, Gration affirmed the keenness of the United States to contribute to enhancement of the humanitarian situation in Darfur, indicating that he aims to be informed about the situation in Darfur and to be assured on arrival of the humanitarian aid to the affected people
