Taha receives John Kerry
Khartoum, April 16 (SUNA)- The Vice President of the Republic, Ali Osman Mohamed Taha, received the visiting Chairman of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, John Kerry, at his residence, Thursday. The US Senator pointed out in press statements following his meeting with the Vice President, Taha, that peace realization in the Darfur could get an impetus through assistance for the currently exerted efforts by the United States of America and neighboring countries such as the Egypt, Libya and Chad beside other regional organizations. Kerry said he was encouraged by pledges made by officials he met abbot the readiness of the government of Sudan to sit to the negotiating table for a peaceful settlement to the question of Darfur. Kerry urged the rebels in Darfur to come and sit to the negotiating table, stressing the need to go ahead with implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement CPA as it was the security valve for the future of he Sudan. He said the implementation of the CPA was an important elements and that it could help in the bilateral relations between the Sudan and the united states of America. He commanded position taken by the National Congress and the Sudan People's Liberation Movement SPLM to sit for tripartite discussion with the United States on the process of the implementation of the CPA MA/MA
