Elections Commission Decided to Increase Number of Political Parties' Representatives at Information Mechanism
Khartoum, Mar. 22 (SUNA)- The National Elections Commission decided in its meeting Monday, under chairmanship of the Chairman of the commission, Abil Alier, increasing the number of the representatives of the political parties in the Information Mechanism to 14 persons
Deputy Chairman and Spokesman of the commission, Prof. Abdalla Ahmed Abdalla, said that the meeting has discussed the issue of the Information Mechanism in the context of the commission's efforts to provide equal opportunities and outcome of the deliberation sitting which was held in this regard at the Council of the Press and Publications
He said that the commission also decided to increase the information period for the political parties and the nominees, within the framework of the equal opportunities, at the official Radio and Television
Prof. Abdalla indicated that the meeting also deliberated about the issue of the report of Carter Center on the election process, explaining that the commission decided formation of a minor committee of its members to study the report of Carter Centre
He said that the envoy of Carter Centre has issued this report, which included important issues, despite the fact that he did not meet or contact with any of the commission members and did not verify the credibility of the erroneous information that he included in his report
Meanwhile, Prof. Abdalla affirmed that the elections will be held in the fixed time of April 11
