My great grand parents were originally from Al-Timarab ,and Mugrat Island.They emigrated for political, and economic reasons during the second half of the 19th century to settle in Rufaa, Omdurman, and Alkamleen.I have worked as a senior economist and head of Marketing Research Division, and Marketing Follow Up Division at the General Petroleum Corporation, Sudan between 1980-89 .
I also worked, teaching at the African- American Institute at the Northeastern University in Boston, the USA, and as the Director
of Africana Studies Program, the University of North Carolina at Asheville
