Summary of Events
 
Massacres continued in Syria today, as the regime continued to shell the neighbourhoods of the city of Homs while sweeping for survivors to finish them off. The Red Cross is still not allowed to enter the city. The situation was not so different in the Damascus suburbs of Zabadani and Madaya, where Assad’s forces are carrying on public executions of those who were fighting against the regime before the truce in the city. The regime continues to cut off electricity around 14 hours a day in the suburbs of Damascus, while harassing residents at checkpoints and kidnapping activists and young women. In Kafarbatna, regime forces occupied over 35 houses and robbed over fifty houses and commercial establishments.
 
In the provinces of Hama, Idlib, and Homs, regime forces opened the dams on the Asi River, including the Rastan dam, in an attempt to drown nearby farming lands. The Rastan dam was last opened in 2003.
 
Assad’s forces killed at least eighteen today, most fell in Homs and Idlib. Warplanes were seen flying over the skies of the city of Raqqa, while aerial reconnaissance airplanes were seen over the towns of Jiza and Taiba in the province of Daraa. As for the city of Boukamal, security forces opened heavy machinegun and AA guns fire in all the neighbourhoods of the city, while electricity was cut off.
 
The Bahraini Gulf Air announced the suspension of all its flights to Syria, a day after Saudi Airlines announced the same.
