Switzerland added 34 names to its list of 108-names of sanctioned Syrian officials found to be contributors to the regime’s crimes against humanity. The names included the Minister of Finance Mohamad Jelailati and Minister of Economy Mohamad al-Shaar. Switzerland also added 19 names of institutions to be sanctioned; those included al-Watan newspaper, The Studies and Research Centre, and some oil companies and banks.
 
The European Union will also be imposing a new round of sanctions on the Assad regime. The list includes companies such as Orient Jet Duty Free, previously named Syria Duty which was owned by Rami Makhlouf, Bashar Assad’s cousin. Duty Free was sold to a Kuwaiti company named al-Aqila, which was later sold to a company named Binaa owned by Makhloud under al-Mustaqbal shell, to circumvent the sanctions.
 
Assad’s forces killed at least 74 people today; most fell in Homs where Baba Amr remains under siege and being bombarded heavily with rockets, artillery, and tank shells. Dozens of houses were flattened over their residents killing dozens and injuring hundreds. Meanwhile, shelling and machinegun fire continued on the neighbouring areas of Khaldiya, Deir Baalba, and the Old City. Currently, thousands of the regime’s militiamen are on standby in Inshaat neighbourhood waiting to raid Baba Amr.
 
As for the suburbs of Damascus, the Fourth Regiment continued to heavily shell the cities of Zabadani and Madaya by opening fire at anything that moves. The regime is utilizing bulldozers to open new routes to the city through houses but is still unable to gain entry.
