Cabinet Affairs Minister Appreciates Contribution of Civil Service to Development

Khartoum, Feb. 6 (SUNA)- The Cabinet Affairs Minister, Ahmed Saad Omer, said that the civil service has been committed to its pledges, referring to its role in holding the general elections in the year 2010 which reflected success of the civil service and its distinguished performance.
This came in the minister's address to the leaders of the civil service Monday at the premises of the Council of Ministers' Secretariat General.
Omer has pointed to the efforts done by the civil service, represented in the Sudanese diplomacy, in refuting the allegations of the so-called International Criminal Court.
He also pointed out that the civil service was able to live up to its role in realizing development in Darfur and east Sudan when its rehabilitated Nyala - Al-Fasher - Zalinge - Genaina - Nuhoud - Um-Kadada, and Um-Kadada - Al-Fasher roads, besides asphalting 6840 kilometers linking between localities in Darfur.
The Cabinet Affairs Minister said that the civil service also constructed several water networks and 130 water stations and dig water reservoirs in Darfur states, adding that the civil service also implemented 564 development projects in east Sudan states in the fields of health, education, water and economy.
He said that the economic progress achieved by Sudan in the field of economic development could have not be reached without the good level of the civil service, referring to the contribution of the civil service to establishment of electricity and dams projects all over the country.
