throughout the history of sudan and eriterea the beni-amer tribes were known for their non-participation in,almost all revolts and resistance movements which erupted in the region{a stark example is the most recent beja demonstrations in 2005 which martyered 22 unarmed ,civilian, innocent beja men not a single soul from the beni-amer joined?}..historically their tribal home-terrotiries were situated in the slim southern boarder-strips in the remote southern villages of kassala&red sea states.while in eriterea they lived in the northern low-lands..and there were no beni-amer people in the main towns of in-land eastern sudan at all..because the closed-districts law was in effect during the colonial rule of the british raj, which prohibitted free movement, let alone settling of tribes out-side their native home-land.?but things changed slightly after independence in 1956,to hit sky walls after  war broke out between ethiopia and the eriterean freedom-fighters,when huge ,unprecedented refugees influxes poured into eastern sudan towns, kassala, port sudan and gedarif to name a few? all of them falsely claiming to be beni-amer kinfolks, who ,later, and  in a relatively short pace of time naturalised their status and acquired full-citizenship rights, using every imaginable means,eg.bribing government officials, who cant get by on their own wages..etc...that achieved ..they travelled abroad to collect big -bucks of donations from the arab countries and yonder ..under the false pretext of using those funds ,to liberate their home-land,, eriterea .?oddly enough they used those huge funds to buy houses ,cars and engage in  all diverse types of business in SUDAN not in ERITEREA?and having gained recognition and got better-off than the native sudanese people in the host country..they made no secret of their intentions of subrogation to crowd -out the non-beni-amer..so they plunged themselves in two regrettable disputes with the 2 nieghboring sudanese tribes{the nuba and the nurab},to say nothing of the failed attempt by an army officer from the beni-amer,who ,as rumors go,allegedly threatened at gun-point and in uniform to kill the ruler of the red sea state and/or his deputy ...in broad-day-light  in the state,s  head-quarters?????only god knows ,what course events could take,if the investigations undertaken do not esablish it as an isolated incident?
hence.. isnt  it time we fling the following As begging Qs in the faces  of all those standing by ,unconcerned, when the the social peaceful co -existence is at stake, and unduly, put to test time and again, by illiterate tribal leaders who can hardly differentiate between tribal-kinship and political leanings? ?..can our fragile social -fabric stand yet another devastating blow?is flat denial of involvement enough, to grant the prospectus offenders impunity every now and then ,without requiring them to dissociate themselves from such deeds once and for all?why the federal government waits for the on-set of conflicts, instead of taking preventive measures to provide against the looming danger???why does the government sweep -under -the carpet symptoms of conflicts that pose a potential threat to our destiny..??
