Statement

To our compatriot public:

The public has continued to follow the most recent developments in Sudan as time of Referendum on self-determination for the people of Southern Sudan comes by.

Recently, there has been increased and unjustifiable deployment of Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) along with active recruitment and armament of militias from some tribes in Southern Kordofan with objective of instigating division and violence amongst the people in the region.

As late as yesterday, the public was misinformed through Akhir Lahza Newspaper that the Sudan People�s Liberation Movement has distributed weapons in Abujibiha Locality. The purpose of such propaganda is an attempt to mask Khartoum regime�s plots in the region.

Accordingly, we would like to clarify to public the following:

1.    That, the deployment of SAF is a clear violation to the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA).

2.    That, the purpose of armament of some tribes in the region is to replicate Darfur crisis in Southern Kordofan.

3.    That, the sole purpose of accusing Sudan People�s Liberation Army (SPLA) of arming and distributing weapons in the region is to obscure the wicked conspiracies of Khartoum government.

4.    That, the weapons which are said to have been distributed in Abujibiha Locality belong to militias of Khartoum government with aim of complicating process of border demarcation in the region.

5.    And that, we will unmask the truth to the general public all details on the matter as time unfolds.

Accordingly, Sudan People�s Liberation Movement would like to caution the entire civilians in the state to beware and remain vigilant against plots aimed at alienating and disuniting the people of the state.
