State Minister Faruk Çelik yesterday visited a Turkish-Sudanese school established by Turkish entrepreneurs in Khartoum.

State Minister Faruk Çelik recently visited a Turkish-Sudanese school in the capital of Khartoum and talked to students and teachers there.

Çelik praised the school for contributing to the development of bilateral relations, saying, This school generates the pool of human resources necessary to sustain the excellent relations we have with Sudan. He was accompanied by deputies from the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) as well as deputies from the opposition Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and Republican Peoples Party (CHP).

The Turkish school was established in 1995 as a small institution offering Turkish language courses and was converted into a primary school in 1999. The school moved to its new location in 2006 to accommodate high demand from the citizens of Khartoum. There are currently 400 students enrolled in the school. Çelik had pictures taken with the Sudanese students, who spoke with him in Turkish.
