Taha to inspect Neyala Power Station, Rahad Abyad Dam Monday

 

Khartoum, 19 March 2011 (SUNA)-Vice President of the Republic, Ali Osman Mohammed Osman, is due to inspect Monday Neyala Power Station in South Darfur State and Rahad Abyad which comes as part of the projects of water harvest which is being implemented by the Dam Implementation Unit

 

Minister of Electricity and Dams, Osama Abdullah, said the current expansion in Neyala power station will contribute in increasing its total capacity from 10.7 Megawatts to 17 Megawatts, which will be funded by the Sudanese Company for Thermal Generation and to be implemented by BEZ-MOTORAY of the Czech Republic, saying that the first unity of the Station has entered the service in last February

 

Meanwhile, the State Minister at the Ministry of Electricity and Dams and Director of the Dams Implementation Unit Mohammed Hassan El-Hadhari said the visit to the Dam of Rahad Abyad in Al-Salam Locality comes as part of the State's concern with solving the problems of water and pasture in South Darfur State in order to decrease clashes between the cattlemen and the farmers

 

He explained that the Ministry has a plan to establish 8 Dams and Reservoirs in 2011 with a capacity of 32 million Cubic Meters to cover the need of the State from Water
