Taha reviews issues related to the implementation of the Islamic sharia laws in the country
Khartoum, Feb. 19 (SUNA)-The Vice President of the Republic, Ali Osman Taha, on Saturday discussed with Muslim scholars issues related to the implementation of the Islamic sharia and the possibility of having a serious look into all Islamic issues that would make the lofty values of the Islam the basis for dealing in all questions
In a statement following the meeting between the Vice President and the Islamic scholars at the Council of Ministers on Saturday, the head of the League of the Islamic Scholars, Dr Alaa Eddin Al Zakki, pointed out to the necessity of providing advise to the government in all activities related to the state performance, given the fact that people are yearning for the application of the Islamic sharia
He said Muslim scholars would continue providing advise to the government as well as the Islamic advise in a way that would effect the necessary Islamic change
The Vice President of the Republic has meanwhile stressed the importance of the points raised by the Muslim scholars, promising that the points raised would be addressed and that it was necessary to always listen to the voices and advise of the Muslim scholars in the application of the shaira laws and to their views on the application of the sharia laws and in the commitment to the Islamic orientation in the future particularly after Sudan gained distinctiveness following the secession of the south
