Protests across north Africa have inspired many young people in Sudan.
Demonstrations in the capital Khartoum, did not have the same dramatic effect but were enough for the government to arrest several members of a youth group, who had been calling for peaceful change.
On their release, some fled to the relative safety of south Sudan's capital, Juba.
