Sudanese Researcher obtains patent for extracting oil from kernel of palm dates
Khartoum, Feb. 3 (SUNA) - Ms. Rehab Salih Mahmoud, a researcher at the National Laboratories of the Ministry of Sciences and Technology, has obtained a patent for extracting oil from the kernel of the Sudanese palm dates
The patent was issued by the Registrar General of Intellectual Property at the Ministry of Justice, and signed by the General Registrar of Intellectual Property
The inventor said that she simply collected samples from the kernels of various Sudanese palm dates ( Barakawi - Gundaila- Tamouda - Kalma- Mashreq - Wad Khateeb and Wad Lagai) and managed to extract oil from the kernel of dates to separate cores of the fruits and crush them into particles by stones Grinding Machine called (retsch - rs 100) and then extract oil from the dates kernel by the organic solvent hexane through the constant extraction device (Alsoxlit). The researcher then gets the pure hexane- free oil by evaporation. It is to be noted that vitamin E and the selenium element are specifically exist in the oil of the nucleus of the Sudanese dates.
