Sudanese Businessmen and Employers Federation urges Washington to lift economic sanctions imposed on Sudan

Khartoum, April 4 (SUNA) - The Sudanese Businessmen and Employers Federation (SBEF) renewed its calls on the US Administration to reconsider the unilateral economic sanctions it imposes on Sudan and take action to end them because they impact Sudanese communities The Secretary General of the Federation, Bakri Yusuf Omer Al-Amin, stressed during a meeting with the Economic Attach� at the American Embassy in Khartoum, James Macray, the importance of reconsidering the American sanctions on Sudan, highlighting their negative impacts on the private Sector, the Sudanese citizens and the situations in Darfur, particularly the railway sector in that region, a matter which contributed in increasing the cost of production and decrease of border trade Bakri explained that the sanctions are among the obstacles and challenges facing the business sector, enumerating their impacts on the private sectors in Sudan and USA as well The Secretary General said SBEF managed to deal with the sanction by moving towards the East in order to achieve some accomplishments in the domains of oil and infrastructure to create a model of cooperation It is to be noted that the meeting was attended by number of Secretaries of Departments at the SBEF, including Samir Ahmed Gasim the Secretary of Policies, El-Sheikh Mustafa Secretary of External Relations, and Ahmed Amin Secretary of Youth and Zeinab Hassan Secretary of Businesswomen. The speakers highlighted the negative impact of the US sanctions on Sudan and the activities of the Federation Meanwhile, the US Economic Attach� in Khartoum expressed his content to get acquainted with the vision of the Sudanese private sector about the relations between Sudan and the US and promised to continue dialogue to realize the desired results in order to develop the bilateral relations MF /MA
