Sudan to Participate in Meetings of the Arab League Foreign Ministers' Council in Cairo

 

Cairo, March 1 (SUNA)- The 135th session of the Arab League's Council at the level of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs is due to begin Wednesday in Cairo, under chairmanship of the Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman, Yousif bin Alawi

 

The meeting of the Council is due to work out the agenda for the Arab League's summit, scheduled to be held in Baghdad by the end of current March. Sudan delegation to the Arab League's ministerial council will be headed by the State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Kamal Hassan Ali

 

The Arab League's Ministerial Council is due to discuss the issue of the current developments in the region and the protests taking place in a number of countries, ways to meet the aspirations of the Arab peoples for modern renaissance and the freedoms of opinion and expression

 

The Arab League's Council would also review the situation in Somalia and Comoros, support to the peace and development in Sudan, the rejection of the unilateral American sanctions being imposed on Syria, the blockade imposed by the United States on Syria and Sudan concerning the purchasing, renting and extending spare-parts for planes

 

The meeting of the Arab League's Ministerial Council will also discuss the Palestinian question, the Arab water security, the peaceful use of nuclear energy, the peaceful solution for the dispute between Djibouti and Eritrea, the situation in Iraq and the issue of Islands of the United Arab Emirates
