Saif bin Zayed sends note to his Sudanese counterpart

WAM Abu Dhabi, Nov. 11, 2010 (WAM)--The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior Lt. General H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a note to the Sudanese Interior Minister Eng. Ibrahim Hamed Mahmoud, thanking the Sudanese Interior Ministry for its efforts to close the file of compensation of the former child jockeys.
The message was delivered by Major General Nasser Al Awadi Al Menhali, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Naturalisation, Residency and Ports, Chairman of the Special Committee for Following Up the Compensation and Rehabilitation of the former Child Jockeys, to Lt. General Dr. Al Adel El A'jeb, Deputy Director General of Police and Inspector General of the Sudanese Police.
The two sides discussed during the meeting held at Police Headquarters in Khartoum a number of issues of mutual concern between the two countries, especially issues pertaining to the compensation and rehabilitation of the former child jockeys, who previous partook in the camel races..
Al Menhali underlined the significance of coordination and joint cooperation among the National Council of Motherhood and Childhood Sponsorship in Sudan, UNICEF, and the Sudanese Ministry of Interior to visit the Red Sea State to meet the former child jockeys in their communities to asses their living conditions so as to provide support to them.
