Released UNAMID Employee Arrives in Al-Fasher City
Al-Fasher, Jan. 5 (SUNA)- The released employee at the Re-integration and Demobilization Department of the joint UN and African Union Mission for Darfur (UNAMID), Steven Bab, arrived in Al-Fasher Wednesday evening in Al-Fasher city aboard a helicopter plane of the Armed Forces
Steven Bab was kidnapped by Sudan Liberation Movement - faction of Abdul-Wahid Mohamed Nour, and the Justice and Equality Movement of from inside Al-Fasher city on October 7th, 2010, which coincided with arrival of a delegation of the Security Council in Al-Fasher
He was taken by the kidnappers to Ima mountain at Sei Mountain, Kabkabiya Locality in North Darfur State
The released UNAMID employee was received upon his arrival in Al-Fasher by the Wali (governor) of North Darfur State, Osman Mohamed Yousif Kibir, a number of the members of the state's government, Chairman of the state's Legislative Assembly and Deputy Chairman of the UNAMID
In a press statement, Kibir described the abduction of the UNAMID employee as a criminal act and intended to embarrass the government during the visit of the Security Council to Darfur
He praised the efforts exerted by the security authorities and the native and community leadership in the state for releasing the UNAMID worker
