Referendum Observer Arrested in Malakal
Khartoum, Jan. 12 (SUNA) - Vote Serve Organization has denounced the arrest of its observer at Al-Omal Quarter's voting center in Malakal town since January 10, 2011
The organization called on the National South Sudan Referendum Commission, the Commission of Referendum in South Sudan and referendum commission in the Upper Nile State to intervene promptly to release the organization's observer
Meanwhile, Rainbow Alliance of Civil Organizations issued a statement explaining that it remained observing the arrest of a number of voters and the observer who belongs to Vote Serve
The Alliance also called on the concerned circles and the Government of South Sudan especially to release the observer and to halt such acts that poses a violation of human rights and violates the referendum process and its laws
