President Al-Bashir Inaugurates Karari High Pumping Water Station

 

Khartoum, Feb. 16(SUNA) - President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, Wednesday inaugurated the high pumping water station at Karari Locality

 

Present in the occasion was the Wail (governor) of Khartoum State, Dr. Abdul-Rahman Al-Khidir

 

President Al-Bashir said in his address on the occasion that Sudan has started a new phase which will begin with making comprehensive statistics and surveys for all the services the available and the required, affirming that priorities will be given to the poor and needy people and remote rural areas

 

He pledged to support the efforts being conducted by Khartoum State to extend electricity and water services to all the districts by the end of the current year, pointing to the commitment of the state to earmark 12% of the available banking funding to projects of poor and needy people

 

Meanwhile, the Wali (governor) of Khartoum State, Dr. Abdul-Rahman Al-Khider, said that his state will begin extending the water network to the new districts as well as replacing the old networks in the areas of the State by some 400 well-trained graduates, pledging to pay fees for extending power services to those who can not afford to pay the advanced payment

 

The General Director of Khartoum Water Corporation, Engineer Khalid Hassan Ibrahim, explained that the high pumping water station at Karari locality produces 130 million liters per day, revealing that Khartoum North Water Station will expanded to produce some 300 million liters per day, while Eid Babiker Station will be expanded to produces 50 million liters per day, to make the total daily production of water pumping at 1.2 billion liters per day in Khartoum State.
