Ministry of Higher Education stresses importance of awareness on AIDS control
Khartoum, Oct. 7 (SUNA) - The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Peter Adok, has affirmed the importance of the community effort to encourage raising awareness about the AIDS control, pointing to the necessity of continuity of supporting the programs of National AIDs Control Program with special focus on raising awareness
The Minister said, during a meeting with the head of the National AIDS Control Program, that the disease is a global problem that requires raising the awareness of the societies on how to fight it, affirming full support to make the work of the National AIDs Control program successful
The State Minister at the Ministry of Higher Education, Professor Khamees Kunda, affirmed the important role of the National AIDS Control Program, reiterating necessity of boosting the current efforts in field of spreading awareness, and coordinating local and international efforts in the framework of the international cooperation with the specialized organizations, especially the ones that operate in field of health and education
The head of the Students Affairs General Administration at the Ministry, Dr. Adil Ramadan, reviewed the performance of the program from the year 2000 to 2010, affirming success of the five-year plan on AIDS control
He said that a number of agreements with the UNICEF, UNESCO and a number of local organizations to train students and raise their awareness in cooperation with the Program
