Minister of Welfare and Social Security chairs 1st meeting of national council for disabled persons

Khartoum, Dec. 16 (SUNA) - The federal Minister of Social Welfare and Security, Amira Al-Fadil, Thursday chaired the first meeting of the National Council for Disabled Persons, which reviewed the Act of Disabled People for the year 2009 and endorsed the regulations for organizing the meetings of the council for the year 2010

The minister addressed the council and expressed her appreciation of the presidential decree that established the council that would serve as a national mechanism to support the disabled persons and meet their aspirations

Meanwhile, the acting Chairman of the Council for the Disabled Persons, Dr. Sa'eed Abdallah Sa'eed, described the established of the council of disabled persons as a dream that comes true, hoping that the Council will endorse its all regulations in the coming period

The meeting then set up a committee to revise other prelating rules and regulations concerning the organization of the facilities and privileges accorded to the disabled persons

The meeting further put certain proposals in order to select its Secretary General and decided to set up a subcommittee to formulate the organizational structure the Council and decided to convene its 2nd meeting next month
