Minister of Justice issues decision establishing prosecution offices for public money in all states

 

Khartoum, March 23 (SUNA) - The Minister of Justice Mohamed Bushara Dosa, has issued a decision for establishing prosecution offices for public money in all the states and gave directives to transfer all cases pertinent to public funds from the general prosecution offices to the public money prosecution offices

 

The Minister further gave directives to study the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) as well as the Arab anti-corruption conventions and to benefit from their content and regulations in combating aggression against the public money as well as supporting the prosecution offices for Public Money

 

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Prosecution Office for Public Money, Hishamuddin Osman, said in a statement to SUNA following a meeting Wednesday with the Minister of Justice, in presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry and the Attorney General, that the minister underlined the importance of enhancing the coordination with the office of the Auditor General and other control authorities in order to ensure presence of internal auditors in all the offices of government

 

He said that the Minister of Justice urged the Prosecution Office for Public Money to work in completing the final drafting of a comprehensive Act for combating Corruption and to consider the points of view of all the concerned authorities in order to table the Act to the National Assembly as soon as possible for ratification

 

The Chairman of the Prosecution Office of Public Money further revealed that the Minister of Justice gave directive to follow up what is published by media, particularly the newspapers, about crime against public money and to respond promptly to verify such information and to take the necessary action, urging the papers to verify accuracy of what they publish
