Khartoum, Oct.13(SUANA)- Massariya said the decisions issued by The Hague-based Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) and the report of experts were inappropriate for addressing the issue of Abyei

The Technical Coordinator of the tribe's delegation to the talks on Abyei which was held recently in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia , Hussein Hamdi said in press conference held Wednesday in Khartoum that Massariya could not be bypassed and that the issue of Abyei could not politically and military be addressed without Massariya's consent

He added the delegation had presented strong legal arguments for participation of Massariya in Abyei referendum

Hussein Hamdi further added eight main points were tackled during the talks and that the American mediator understood the view of Massariya , disclosing that negotiations will be resumed at the end of the current month. Head of the delegation, Rahma Abdul-Rahman asserted that the tribe would not retreat from its demands raised in the talks , but, he underlined that Massariya had no desire to return to war

The People's Coordinator of the delegation, Muthtar Babo Nimir said that Massariya were able to protect their land and properties in Abyei

"We have been silent for 20 years and will not be silent more than that". "We conveyed to Chairman of the African Union's Panel on Sudan , Thabo Mbeki that the issue of Abyei can only be resolved through talks with Dinka Ngok and that intimidation will not help in finding solution to the problem" Muthtar Nimir explained
