Launching the aids project of the national forests programme in its second phase to conserve the vegitation cover

 

Khartoum / 30/11/ SUNA/ the national corporation of forests has launched in partnership with the Food and Agricultural Organization FAO the aid project of the national forests programme in its second phase

 

. Dr. Abdulazeem Mirghani general manager of the national forests corporation said while addressing the inaugural session of the programme workshop , the programme has presented great facilities to many sectors including voluntary organizations, non governmental organizations and the sudanese media which the programme has supported by more than 25000 USD to launch circulation campaign for the programme by transmitting the culture of trees planting within the society to conserve the environment

 

He added that the Sudan has becom a UN partner since 2004 to develop the country's forests programme through smart partnerships and to make the forests conservation issue part of the public opinion and concepts

 

He also reviewed a number of projects implemented through the partnerships estimated at 18 projects, pointing to the role of corporation in supervising and organizing the meetings and workshops to enhance the role of the programme beside making studies that connects the forests activities by poverty eradication projects and the establishment of the programme site in the internet. On his side Mohamed Almekki Daldoum the organization's representative said the objective of the workshop is to launch the second phase of the national programme , also Youhan Leon the general manager of the aid project for the national forests programme has revealed the development plan of the forests activities in Sudan during the coming two years and the allocated budgets.
