Karti and Sir Plumbly review pending issues and writing off Sudan debts
Khartoum, Feb. 21 (SUNA) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ali Karti, met at his office Monday with the chairperson of the UN Assessment and Evaluation Commission (AEC) Sir Derek Plumbly
The meeting reviewed the efforts being exerted to solve the pending issues in the relations between north and south Sudan
Karti affirmed the importance of realization of durable peace and refrain from support to the rebel groups against any of each side
He also stressed the importance of the expulsion of all armed movements' leaders by the south Sudan government, besides consolidation of the joint cooperation in the trade, security and economic fields
The two parties agreed on the importance of adopting the concept of flexible borders to ensure smooth of movement between Sudan and the new state of the south to facilitate the transport of goods and trade
Sir Plumbly has asserte importance of the efforts being exerted by the international community for solving Sudan debts, referring to the the initiative adopted by Norway to lead the some international efforts to hold a conference for support to the economy and development in Sudan after the separation of south Sudan
Karti welcomed the efforts being exerted by some countries for writing off Sudan debts, underlining that Sudan met all the conditions that qualify it to have its debts being written off
