Government Welcomes Visit of Egyptian Premier Dr. Isam Sharaf

 

Khartoum, March 25 (SUNA)- Sudan government has welcomed the visit scheduled due to be paid to Sudan by the Egyptian Prime Minister, Dr. Isam Sharaf, on Sunday at the head of a high-level delegation, especially that it is the first visit of Dr, Sharaf outside Egypt following the Egyptian Revolution. The delegation accompanying Premier Isam Sharaf will include eight ministers and senior government officials

 

The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Khalid Musa, is of great historic importance as it reflects the orientations of the Egyptian leadership following the Revolution with regard to bolstering the strategic ties between Egypt and Sudan and the need to cement them and putting them on the right track

 

Musa referred to the recent visit paid to Cairo by the President Al-Bashir which was the visit of a foreign head of state to Egypt, a matter which posed a genuine reflection to the mutual feeling on the specialty of the ties between the two peoples of the Nile Basin

 

He said that the visit of the Egyptian Prime Minister to Sudan provides a good opportunity for consolidating further the bilateral relations in all fields and continuing the consultation that was initiated by President Omer Al-Bashir during his recent successful visit to Cairo where he met with the Chairman of the Military Council, the Prime Minister and leaders of the political forces and the modern forces of change in Egypt

 

Meanwhile, the Friendship Hall is due to host next Sunday a session of consultations between the Sudanese and Egyptian sides which will be co-headed by the Vice - President of the Republic, Ali Osman Mohamed Taha, and the Egyptian Prime Minister, Dr. Isam Sharaf, to discuss issues of mutual concern and ways to push ahead the relations and cooperation between the two sister states in all domains

 

The Egyptian ministers accompanying to Premier Dr. Isam Sharaf will hold talks in Khartoum with their Sudanese counterparts to review means of boosting the cooperation between their respective ministries for the interest of the two nations. Khalid Musa indicated that the Egyptian Prime Minister would meet with leaders of the Sudanese parties, including the National Congress, the Democratic Unionist Party and the Umma Party

 

He said that Premier Dr. Isam Sharaf and the accompanying delegation will be received Sunday evening by the President of the Republic at the Guest House, indicating that the Egyptian delegation would pay a visit next Monday Al-Kadaru Livestock Quarantine to witness the start of transporting of 5,000 heads of cattle to Egypt as a gift of President Al-Bashir to the sister Egyptian people, in fulfillment to the pledge that he announced during his recent visit to Cairo

 

The Egyptian delegation is due to leave for Juba to meet with the First Vice - President of the Republic and President of the Government of South Sudan, Salva Kiir, and members of his government
