Foreign Minister reviews political coordination with Hungarian counterpart

 

Budapest, Nov. 13 (SUNA) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Ali Karti has reviewed with his Hungarian counterpart Yianos Martoni, at the headquarters of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, means of boosting and cementing bilateral relations and joint cooperation between the two friendly countries as well as means of coordinating politically on issues of joint interest in the international arena

 

The two sides also reviewed means of revitalizing cultural and educational exchange and increasing cooperation in the economic, investment and trade domains

 

The Hungarian part was also briefed on the developments in the Sudan and the preparations for organizing the referendum on time as scheduled, calling on the European union whose presidency is assumed by Hungary to assist the two parties to the comprehensive Peace Agreement CPA implement a free, fair and credible plebiscite whose results, whatever they be, would be accepted

 

On his part the Hungarian Minister Martoni, has stressed his country's backing for the Sudan at this critical juncture saying they would do their level best so that the EU would effectively contribute in achieving peace and stability in the Sudan

 

He said his country greatly appreciates its historic relations with the Sudan and its status as an influential country in the region. The Minister said he would be visiting the Sudan prior to the referendum

 

On the other hand the commerce chambers in Sudan and Hungary have singed a cooperation agreement on cooperation and increasing of investment cooperation as well as increasing of trade exchange. The Sudanese side briefed the Hungarian counterpart on investment opportunities in the Sudan as well as incentives provided for investment in the country
