China Donates Musical Instruments to Sudan's Ministry of Culture

Sudan's Ministry of Culture on Monday received different types of musical instruments as gifts from China.

"We welcome the gifts which indicate the deeply-rooted friendly ties between China and Sudan. We at the ministry of culture have strong relations with China, in particular the Sudanese Acrobatic Troupe," said Al-Samawal Khalafalla, Sudanese Minister of Culture, during a hand-over ceremony here Monday.

"China is a friendly country to Sudan and it provides assistances in the different petroleum, construction, development, cultural and social fields," he added.

The Sudanese minister further expressed hope that China would actively participate in the 10th Khartoum International Music Festival, to be organized during this year.

The gift was handed over by the Chinese Ambassador to Sudan Li Chengwen, who, speaking at the ceremony, said that "our two countries are keen on continuation of the deeply-rooted and historical cooperation ties."

"China supports peace, development and stability in Sudan. We are convinced that the cultural exchanges play an important role in enhancing the cooperation between the two peoples," Li added.

The Chinese Ambassador expressed hope that the 10th Khartoum International Music Festival would achieve the aspired success, saying that "we are ready to strengthen China's participation in this festival."
