Cabinet Reviews Report on Performance and Plans for Development of Sugar Industry
Khartoum, March 17 (SUNA) - The Council of Ministers, chaired by the President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, reviewed a report on sugar production development plan presented by the Industry Minister, Dr. Awad Ahmed Al-Jaz
The report reflected the development of the sugar industry in Sudan since the establishment of Al-Geneid Sugar Factory in1962
The Cabinet's spokesman, Dr. Omer Mohamed Saleh, said that the report also pointed to the development dimension of the sugar industry which supported the provision of the roads, building of schools and health centers, water purification stations and power generation stations, a matter that improved the human development iprocess
The Cabinet has commended the successful sugar industry experiment in Sudan and the comprehensive social development that accompanied it. On securing the return of the Sudanese nationals from Libya, Dr. Saleh said that the ministers reviewed a report on the evacuation of the Sudanese nationals from Libya presented by the State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Kamal Hassan Ali.
