Assembly of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) concludes session and issues recommendations
Beirut, Dec. 12 (SUNA) - the General Assembly 38 of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) has concluded its works today in Beirut , in a statement the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) stressed on support for the rehabilitation of the editors and technicians in the news agencies to develop their capabilities through the establishment of training courses and specialized workshops
The statement stressed on the importance of "organizing more training sessions and workshops at the Training Institute's media , and recommended the preparation for a new cycle of photography for the next year in cooperation with " Reuters "
And on the establishment of agencies new services the statement assured the continuation of work to cope with the changes and developments that occur in this field, specially in the field of service news to the children at the age of the sixth to the tenth which includes material catalog , Data and information on topics specific to children, also the meeting recommended the organization of a course on Children journalism using the Qatari experience in this field
The meeting also stressed on the importance of holding a second workshop for heads of departments of public relations in the second half of 2011 and to prepare for a symposium to be attended by a number of editors and secretaries in the news agencies on the subject of ethics of journalism and training workshop for editors of Economic Affairs on the economic variables in the Arab countries in general and the Gulf in particular The General Assembly urged the Arab news agencies to participate in the sessions of the American Training Institute for Communications to raise the efficiency of engineers and technicians
The meeting also discussed the site on the Internet after reviewing the report of the technical bodies and the importance of the site to spread the Arab meeting news, and providing the site with news and photos
the statement stressed on the importance of strong relationships with international news agencies, and cooperation of Arab News Agencies with the Organization of Asian News Agencies (Oana) and the European Union of the news agencies. The General Assembly decided to hold its annual conference, the 39 in Qatar next year at the invitation of the Director-General of the Qatar News Agency (QNA)
The General Assembly welcomed the convening of the Conference of the Fourth International news agencies in Saudi Arabia in 2013 calling on all Arab news agencies to contribute to the success of this Conference. The Assembly also decided to award the prize for best picture of 2010 to Saudi Press Agency, which came from the picture entitled "The washing of the Kaaba," , and set forward the idea of award for best website on the Internet for news agencies, members of the Union
It is worth noting that Ms. Nemat al-Shami General Assistant of the General Director of the Sudan News Agency has been involved in the works of the 38 th session of the Federation of Arab News Agencies
