Armed Forces Inflicts Heavy Losses on Rebels in Eastern Jabal Marra
Khartoum, Feb. 24 (SUNA)- The spokesman of the Armed Forces, Col. Al-Sawarmi Khalid Saad, said that the Armed Forces attacked on February 24 locations of the rebels at Al-Sharfa area, south western Takmari in eastern Jabal Marra, and destroyed the rebel forces in a battle which has lasted for two hours
In a statement he issued Thursday, Col. Al-Sawarmi said that the attack came in the context of operations being carried out by the Armed Forces to open roads and to secure villages at eastern Jabal Marra from remnants of the movement of Abdul-Wahid Nur and bandits of Meni Arku Menawi and other rebels
He explained that the Armed Forces had killed 25 rebels and wounded a big number of them and seized four Land- Cruiser belonging to the rebels, adding that two soldiers of the Armed Forces have martyred and 10 soldiers were wounded
He stressed that the Armed Forces will continue its operations to destroy all the rebels of Abdul-Wahid, Meni Arku Menawi and the other bandits for the sake of securing citizens and opening roads
