Al-Mahmoud: the Demands of Darfur People are Similar
Nyala, Nov. 30 (SUNA) State Minister of the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud, has called upon the Government and the armed movements during his meeting with the members of the Legislative Council in South Darfur to provide concessions for the homeland and peace, pointing out that they are in constant discussion about whether there should be one region or three states, or to continue the search for a compromise between the two options, noting that the demands of the people of Darfur are similar
On his part, the Joint Mediator Djibril Bassole called to discard war and violence and to strive for a cease-fire by all parties. the speaker of the Legislative Council Adam Osman affirmed that the council is with the multiple states and rejects the one region, and a position of vice president should be for the people of Darfur, not to the armed forces, pointing out that those who are entitled to speak on behalf of Darfur are the internally displaced, refugees, state legislatures and the three states governments
