Al-Mahmoud Arrives in Khartoum to Hold Consultations on Peace in Darfur
Khartoum, Feb. 9 (SUJNA)- The Qatari State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed bin Abdalla Al-Mahmoud, arrived Wednesday evening in a two-day visit to hold talks with senior government officials on Darfur peace process and the efforts being exerted in this regard
In a statement to SUNA upon arrival, Al-Mahmoud said that his visit comes in the context of the consultation on the current peace process in Doha. He disclosed that the Joint Mediation is currently in the final stage for formulating the lasting peaceful solution for Darfur issue
Al-Mahmoud indicated that he will meet Thursday the President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, the Presidential Advisor and official of Darfur file, Dr. Ghazi Salahuddin, the State Minister at the Presidency of the Republic and head of the government delegation for the negotiation in Doha, Dr. Amin Hassan Omer, to review the process for realizing peace in Darfur
