170,000 Feddans to be Cultivated in Gezira in Context of Agricultural Cooperation Agreement between Sudan and Egypt
Cairo, Oct. 13 (SUNA)- The Egyptian Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Dr. Saad Nassar, announced that the Sudanese - Egyptian Agricultural Company will begin cultivation of 170,000 feddans in Sudan as part of the implementation of the agricultural cooperation agreement which was signed between Egypt and Sudan
He said in a press statement that the Holding Company for Food Industry, the Consumer Goods Corporation and the General Union for Poultry Producers began signing contracts on wheat, sorghum and beet at Gezira Scheme. He said that the Sudanese and the Egyptian Banks expressed their readiness to fund implementation of the project and providing the production requirements
