13th Conference for Development of Sudanese - Ethiopian States Inaugurated in Sinjah
Sinjah, Dec. 24 (SUNA) - The Secretary General of the Decentralized Government and representative of the President of the Republic, Prof. Al-Amin Dafa'alla, has appreciated the remarkable progress in the relations between Sudan and Ethiopia in all fields
This came in his address at the opening sitting of the 13th Conference for the Development of the Bordering Sudanese and Ethiopian Relations, in the presence of the Walis (governors) of the Blue Nile, Kassala, Gedarif State, besides the Governors of the neighbouring Ethiopian regions
Prof. Dafa'alla praised the great progress achieved in Sennar and the neighbouring states following the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA), referring the major role being played by Ethiopia in supporting the peace process in Sudan
The opening sitting was also addressed by the Wali (governor) of Sennar State and heading of the Sudanese side at the meetings, engineer Ahmed Abbas, who affirmed that holding of the current conference reflects the deeply rooted ties between the Sudanese and Ethiopian peoples
Engineer Abbas has lauded the firm stand of Ethiopia in supporting Sudan at the regional and international forums and its denunciation to the conspiracies woven against Sudan
He appreciated the progress achieved in the implementation of the agreements and memos of understanding which were reached in the recent conference of the bordering Sudanese and Ethiopian states
