117 States, Organization and fund have confirmed their participation in the donors conference for Eastern Sudan

 

Khartoum, Nov. 28 ( SUNA) Advisor of the President chairman of the Preparatory Committee for the donor conference for Eastern Sudan, Dr. Mustafa Osman Isamil, declared that 117 countries, organizations and fund would participate in the conference which opens next Wednesday in Kuwait, indicating that projects to be presented to donors were completed. He said in a press conference today, in the Sudanese Media center that 30 countries officially confirmed their participation in the conference, which lasts for two days under the patronage of the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah

 

He expected that number to increase to 40 countries, also 37 regional and international organizations, international investment and development funds that is beside 50 voluntary organization confirmed their participation in the conference. He noted that the official delegation of the Sudanese government will leave tomorrow, headed by Assistant of the President, the president of the Eastern Front Mussa Mohammed Ahmed, and membership includes a number of Ministers and deputy ministers, governors of the three eastern provinces and the heads of the legislative councils Ismail said, "The conference will be preceded by two conferences held in Kuwait next Tuesday, the first is about investment in eastern Sudan, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with the Sudanese Businessmen Union and aims to offer investment projects that will be presented at the conference. the second especially for the voluntary organizations and their role in eastern Sudan, organized by the Organization of the Islamic Dawa in cooperation with the International Islamic Charitable Organization in Kuwait." The conference seeks to focus on the need of the area of eastern Sudan for investment opportunities , and aims to attract funds and investments that will contribute to the common interest of all parties in reconstruction, rehabilitation and development of eastern Sudan. Osman said that these projects include service projects , investment and infrastructure projects, pointing out that the East now enjoys lasting peace and has not fired one bullet since the signing of the Eastern Sudan Agreement in Asmara in 2006. He stressed that this conference is different from previous conferences as it sets the implementation of the basic services, confirming that the government seeks to resolve the problem of al- Gash flood through scientific study prepared by foreign and Sudanese experts

 

The conference has an international, regional and Arab importance, and it is convened in implementation of eastern Sudan Peace Agreement
