Sudan to be the First Arab Country in Using MENOS System
Khartoum, Jan. 7 (SUNA)- A delegation of the Arab States Broadcasting Union, headed by the Director of Engineering Department at the union, Engineer Abdul-Rahim Suleiman, announced that Sudan will be the first country to benefit from the network of the Multi-Media Exchange of News over Satellite (MENOS) in the Arab World. At a briefing they gave Thursday at the headquarters of Sudan News Agency (SUNA), in the presence of its General Manager, Awad Jadain, member of the union's delegation reviewed the advantages of the system MENOS network. According to agreements, Sudan News Agency, Sudan Radio and Sudan TV will benefit from MENOS system of the Arab States Broadcasting Union. Members of the delegation stated that Sudan will be the pioneer Arab country to implement the new technology of MENOS services which enable quick and easy transmission of text, audio-visual and video services in and outside Sudan. Members of the delegation explained that MENOS is a modern communication system that provides large capability for uploading media materials and information. MO/MO
