Sudan to Host Many Delegations and Teams of Observors this Week to Monitor the Elections

 

Khartoum, April 4 (SUNA)- Regional and international teams and delegations are due to arrive in Sudan as of today (Sunday) evening to participate in the monitoring of the general elections which have reached their final stages

 

In a statement to SUNA, the Director of the Political Administration at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Ahmed Al-Tigani, said that chairman of the African Union delegation for monitoring the elections and former president of Ghana, John Kofor, is due to arrive in Khartoum Sunday evening at the head of a delegation that includes officials at foreign ministries, diplomats, university lecturers and journalists

 

He said that a team of 10 persons from the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) would arrive in Sudan on April 7 to monitor the elections

 

Ambassador Al-Tigani said that a delegation of the European Union is due to arrive on April 8

 

He said that a delegation of the Arab League, headed by Ambassador Salah Halima and composed of 52 observors from all the Arab countries is due to arrive on April 8, adding that a Malaysian delegation would also arrive in same date
