HYDERABAD: Task Force police arrested a 36-year-old Sudan national, Khaled Osman Ahmed for over-staying at Hakeempet, Tolichowki on Thursday. They also seized a mobile phone from him.

During the course of investigation, police found Ahmed came to India in May, 1994, on a tourist visa and stayed in Pune. He went back to his country in 1995. In November, 1997, he returned to India on a tourist visa and stayed at Rethibowli in the city. While studying here, he married an Indian, Tahseen Sultana, 29, of Hakeempet, and was blessed with a girl child.

Due to family problems, his wife is now staying with her brothers since two years. In June, 2007, he came to Hyderabad on a Sudanese passport (No.A538150) and was living alone at Hakeempet. After arriving in India, he did not register his name with Foreigner�s Regional Registration Office and was overstaying illegally since two years.

In January, 2010, a theft occurred at his house and the robbers took away his valet containing his passport, but he did not complain to police. He was handed over to the Banjara Hills police for necessary action.

Sudanese held for illegal stay

HYDERABAD: A Sudanese national, who was staying in the city illegally without registering himself with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office, was held by the city police today.
On credible information, the Sudanese national was nabbed from his house at Toli Chowki for overstaying for the past two and a half years. Khaled Osman Ahmed alias Khaled, who is working as a physiotherapist, claimed that his passport was stolen and he had not lodged a complaint with the police since his stay was not legal.
According to police, 36- year Khaled first came to the country in May 1994 on a tourist visa and stayed in Pune. He returned to Sudan in 1995.
In November 1997, he came back on a tourist visa and took up lodgings in Rethi Bowli in the city. During his stay, he pursued a diploma i n physiotherapy through correspondence from Siddartha College in Guntur district.
Khaled also married a city woman, Tahseen Sultana, and the couple were blessed with a girl child, an official release said today.
But due to some problems, Sultana has been living with her brother for the past past two years.
In June 2007, Khaled came to Hyderabad on a Sudanese passport and a ``Miscellaneous Visa�� and has been living alone in Hakeempet.
�After landing in the country, he did not register his name with any Foreigners Regional Registration Office within 14 days as stipulated and has been overstaying for the past two and a half years,�� the release said.
Khaled claimed before the police that miscreants broke into his house in January 2010 and stole his wallet containing the passport and also money but he did not lodge a complain.
Khaled was handed over to the Banjara Hills police for action under Section 14 of the Foreigners Act 1946.
