Sudan and Chad Affirm their Keenness to Implement Directives of Presidents Al-Bashir and Deby
Khartoum, April 4 (SUNA)- The Minister of Science and Technology and Chairman of the Thought and Culture Sector at the National Congress, Prof. Ibrahim Ahmed Omer, affirmed that the President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, and the Chadian President, Idris Deby, are sharing a strong will to return the Sudanese - Chadian relations to their normal course
This came when Prof. Omer received in his office Sunday the visiting Chadian high-level delegation, which is headed by the Advisor of the Chadian President Abdul-Rahman Musa, and includes the Minister of Interior and Security, Mohamed Ahmed Basher
Prof. Omer appreciated the historic and fraternal relations between the Sudanese and Chadian peoples
He called on the officials of the two countries to transfer the directives given by Presidents Omer Al-Bashir and Idris Deby into practical programmes toward surpassing the atmosphere of differences that characterized the past period
Prof. Omer announced that his ministry will implement the directive of the President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, to provide lighting for the Chadian villages at the joint border through solar energy and at the cost of over two million dollars during a period of one month, calling on the Chadian Minister of Interior to provide security for the Sudanese cadres and technicians who will implement this project as well its equipments
Meanwhile, the Chadian Minister of Interior affirmed the commitment of Chadian party to implement the directives of the two presidents. He expressed his appreciation the efforts being exerted by Sudan in implementation of development and services projects, calling for strengthening to the cooperation between Sudan and Chad in all fields
He acquainted Prof. Omer with the understandings reached by officials in Sudan and Chad for establishment of joint projects in the fields of roads, railways and education, referring to the continuity of exchange of visits between the Sudanese and Chadian officials in the coming stage
The two parties underscored at the meeting the importance of consolidation of the relations between the National Congress and the ruling party in Chad
