Saudi Development Fund Donates 15 Million Dollars for Support to the Humanitarian Situation in Darfur

 

Khartoum, Jan. 12 (SUNA)- An agreement was signed Tuesday between the government of Sudan and the Saudi Development Fund according to which the fund will provide 15 million dollars as donation for support to the humanitarian situation and development in Darfur, besides two million dollars for vocational training in Kadugli and Damazin areas. The agreement was signed at the premises of the Ministry of Finance by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Finance, Hafez Attal-Mannan, for Sudan government and representative of the Saudi Development Fund Hassan Al-Attas, in the presence of the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia, the Governor of the Bank of Sudan and the Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid. Meanwhile, the Minister of Finance lauded the role of the bank in boosting the development and stability in Sudan. He also appreciated progress of the relations between Sudan and Saudi Arabia, calling for a partnership between the two countries for the interest of the two sister nations. He said that the donation will have remarkable contribution to the voluntary repatriation and stability in Darfur. The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia has praised the deeply rooted and historic ties between Sudan and Saudi Arabia, affirming the importance of bolstering the bilateral relations in all domains. He said that the donation will be utilized for implementing projects in the education, health, water and other fields toward boosting the stability of Darfur. MO/MO
