Republican Decree on Promotion of 50 Ambassadors to Higher Rank Issued
Khartoum, Jan. 19 (SUNA) - President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, Tuesday issued a Republican Decree on promotion of 50 ambassadors to the higher rank. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs carried out extensive promotions for diplomats, which included promotion of 35 of plenipotentiaries to the rank of ambassador, three of them are females, raising the number of the female ambassadors in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to nine. The ministry also promoted 46 advisors to the rank of plenipotentiary, 64 first secretaries to the rank of advisor, in addition to 31 second secretaries to the rank of first secretary. The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Muawia Osman Khalid, described this promotion process as the biggest one that the ministry witnessed, a matter that affirms the confidence of the political leadership, represented in the President of the Republic, on the performance of the ministry and its diplomats.
