Prof. Ghandour Acquaints AU Political Affairs Commissioner with Preparations for the Elections
Khartoum, Jan. 20 (SUNA)-The Political Secretary at the National Congress, Prof. Ibrahim Ghandour, Wednesday evening received at the headquarters of the National Congress the Commissioner of Political Affairs at the African Union and acquainted him with the ongoing arrangements for holding the elections in next April. The African Union's official and the accompanying delegation expressed the African Union appreciation over the efforts of Sudan and the National Congress for implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA). Prof. Ghandour affirmed the National Congress commitment to complete the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA). He said that the National Congress is working in full cooperation with the Sudanese political forces for holding free and fair elections in the country. Prof. Ghandour asserted that the National Congress is keen to work for completing the peace process and holding the referendum in south Sudan, indicating that the two partners, the political forces and the Sudanese people are standing for the unity of Sudan.
